The forecast categories are can be seen as a mapping of deal stages for the forecast. Like the deal stages dictate the placement of the deal in the current sales pipeline, forecast categories dictate the probability of that deal to be included in forecast.

They are used by Clientell’s platform to provide the most accurate forecast, every user can use them while putting adding their forecast by directly assigning probabilities to the deal’s forecast categories.

These categories can be mapped to the deal stages to provide a standard forecast for different different pipeline structures in different organizations.

This mapping should be doe by the platform admin when onboarding, and can be changed down the line. In the admin settings → Onboarding Settings → Forecast Settings
